Graveyard Adventures

As a favor for a co-worker, I am working from midnight to 5am. This will be a running chronicle of what happened during that time:

11:55 pm - Arrive at Lab.
12:10 am - The virologist trainee, virologist trainer, and the CLA (I'm a CLA too) I'm replacing are packing up for the night. They offer encouragement and a few last tips on working the graveyard shift.
12:15 - I am alone in the lab. I re-decontaminate the workbenches ("just in case") .
1:10 - I'm glad I brought Travis to listen to.
2:05 - The late night ER rush is pretty much over. There are no more interesting things to do with my time.
2:15 - Looking for something to do, I wandered into the room that houses the -70°C freezers. I dropped the key just before the door closed and now I am locked inside.
2:21 - I found a piece of candy in my pocket. Ate half. Rationing remainder for later.
2:39 - Nutritional deficiencies force me to consume the remainder of my rations.
3:22 - Realized the door wasn't locked after all. Put the key away.
4:05 - Not asleep... but definitely not that awake. I need something to do. I am continually finding myself in a trance.
4:35 - Only one test to run!? I'm dying here.
5:03 - Salvation! Another CLA has come to my rescue, freeing me from the dreaded graveyard shift.
5:04 - On my way to bed.
