Primary Presentation

Ha ha ha. Janelle wanted to blog about this first, but I can't resist (and Janelle "doesn't blog on Sundays").

Today was the primary presentation in church (Janelle works with primary kids). It went really well with only the most common of usual hangups: kids refusing to participate, forgetting their lines, and making weird faces without knowing they are making weird faces.

My very favorite line from the entire thing, however: "When Jesus visited the Neptunes..."

Those usual hangups are what make the program so awesome. A couple of years ago we had a boy in our ward who was never confirmed after his baptism. He just absolutely refused to receive the Holy Ghost. So at the program he was asked to recite the 4th article of faith....I don't know what they were thinking when they asked him to do that, nevertheless. When he got up there he began and then FREAKED out and balled his fists up, threw his head back and started screaming "I just can't do this, I can not speak these words". Then he stormed off. He was 10 at the time. Oh we felt so bad for him but it was a program never to be forgotten.

Gale, that is hilarious! I cannot even imagine if something like that had happened at ours.
